BRIAN SILBER is an accomplished performer and recording artist, based in the U.S. Virgin Islands. His early years were filled with rehearsals and concerts with the renowned Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, and by the age of twenty one, had already begun his studio recording in New York, laying down violin solos, composing and single-handedly recording his full string arrangements. Brian has sat in with many diverse musicians, from Paris to New York, to St. John, USVI, and has many recordings to his credit, including two current solo projects and two CD releases with long time friend and musical collaborator, Andy Gordon. Brian has consistently displayed his mastery of the art of improvisation on the violin, and enjoys teaching these skills to the more accomplished and experienced musicians who find it difficult to break away from the written notes of the manuscript. Among Brian's strengths include his ability to compose and record elaborate orchestrations by himself. This talent is especially evident on his "Dance of Life "and "Now's the Time" projects released with Andy Gordon, and will be featured on Brian's anticipated third solo project, "String Theory," hopefully to be completed by early 2005. Violin and viola are his instruments of choice. You can hear Brian perform with various groups and artists throughout each week at various clubs and venues throughout the island of St. Croix (please check his on-line schedule). Brian offers his skills of orchestration and/or soloing to all interested individuals anywhere in the world, and is available for travel globally for the purpose of performance and recording. He displays an uncanny comfort level with virtually every style of music, including jazz, bluegrass, Irish, traditional, swing, blues, and more. |
